The Communication & Culture Program is for students who want to improve their English language communication skills, experience UCR campus community life, and explore Southern California's famous sites.

This year-round program is offered in 2 week, 4 week, and 6 week-long program lengths. During the week, students attend communicative English language learning sessions Tuesday-Friday from 9am-12pm. In the afternoons and on Mondays, students are free to choose from a variety of campus and community activities, participate in cultural workshops, and explore Southern California via a variety of off-campus excursions to Disneyland, Los Angeles, San Diego, baseball games, outlet mall shopping trips, and more!*

*Optional activities and trips have additional fees that will be paid at the time of participation.

Admission Requirements

This program is for students of all English language levels, from upper-beginner to advanced.

  • No TOEFL/IELTS exam required.
  • Minimum age: 18 years old
    • Immigration Information

      This part-time program does not require an F-1 (student) visa.

Before You Apply

You will be asked create an account and you will need to provide a valid email address, mailing address and other personal information.

Collect any required documents so that you are prepared to upload them.

Supporting Documents:

  • Agency/embassy/partner university information. (Only required if you have one.)
  • Copy of your passport photo page.
  • Statement of Financial Support Form. (Only if your program requires an F-1 (student) visa)
  • Financial statement from the Bank, in English. (Only if your program requires an F-1 (student) visa)
  • If you are applying as an F-1 transfer student from another U.S. institution, you must submit copies of your current I-20 form, I-94 form, and F-1 visa. If you are accepted, your acceptance letter will provide further instructions on completing your transfer.
  • If you are under 18 years old, have your parents complete the parental release form.

Note: Some programs require additional documentation.
