How to Improve Fluency in English
 |
Improving
Oral Fluency allows those with advanced English language skills to
enhance their speaking and listening through group practice as well
as through individualized feedback. For business people, students
preparing for American universities and colleges, teachers or anyone
wishing to improve his or her spoken English.
All participants
must take a placement test on Registration Day in order to demonstrate
the required advanced English proficiency. If your test results show
high intermediate or lower proficiency, we will advise you to take
the Intensive English Program instead.

ORAL
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Learn techniques and practice working on advanced-level functions such as explaining
and describing. Students will also practice unprepared speaking and answering
questions before a group. |
PRONUNCIATION
The pronunciation course will focus primarily on improving production of the
correct stress, rhythm and intonation of spoken English, but problems with
individual sounds will also receive attention. Class activities range from
teacher-controlled exercises to less controlled communicative activities. |
GRAMMAR
FOR ORAL FLUENCY
The goal of this class is to improve grammatical accuracy in spoken English.
Verb tenses, articles, word forms and complex structures will be emphasized.
Students will be able to work on individual problems in grammar and will receive
feedback and correction as they practice individually, in pairs, and in groups. |
