Nursing International Program (GNRP)

Overview

The Global Nursing Review Program (GNRP) is offered by International Education Programs at the University of California, Riverside, one of the largest and most reputable programs of its kind in the United States, in cooperation with COPE Health Solutions (COPE), one of the nation’s premier nonprofit health care organizations.

GNRP combines and enhances programs the University of California Extension, Riverside, and COPE Health Solutions have been doing for many years. UCR Extension has over 32 years’ experience working with international students and professionals and many years doing courses for Registered Nurses (RNs).
COPE has over 10 years’ experience developing and replicating  proven, sustainable solutions to the health workforce.

Who should attend?
This program is designed for those who are licensed nurses in their own countries and would like to know more about western medical theory and practice.
What is GNRP?
The program is a combination of NCLEX review, cultural communications and experience in an American healthcare setting.
What is NCLEX-RN?
The NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse) is a computer-adaptive test (CAT) of entry-level nursing competence.
Passing the exam is required of candidates for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by all US state and territorial Boards of Nursing.

General Information

Global Nursing Review Program is a combination and enhancement of programs the University of California, Extension, Riverside, and the California Community College system have been doing for years. We have re-combined and updated existing programs into a 9-month certificate program for international nurses. International nurses may now have one-year Optional Practical Training (OPT) upon successful completion of the program and passing scores on the TOEFL and NCLEX exams with salaries beginning at $40,000 per year.
UCR Extension has over 32 years’ experience working with international students and professionals and many years doing courses for Registered Nurses (RNs). The California Community Colleges have not only had successful nurse training programs but have also been offering NCLEX review classes for international nurses living in California and have raised the pass rate for these nurses from 50% to well over 80%.
This 3-quarter intensive Global Nursing Review Program should ensure an even higher pass rate and, in addition, graduates of this program will be able to understand western medical practices and philosophy and be able to communicate effectively with medical personnel and patients in an American hospital.
