Overview
There is a great need for international nurses who can practice in many different countries. To be a successful nurse, it is not enough just to pass the exams. You must be able to understand the culture of the country, the culture of the work environment and to be able to communicate effectively.
This program will give you experience in working in a health care setting as well as classes in culture, western analytic reasoning and exam preparation.
It is not enough to get a job; you must be able to perform successfully and be a valuable asset to your employer.
The Global Nursing Review Program for RNs is designed to prepare licensed nurses from other countries to:
• Be proficient in western nursing practices and familiar with western medical philosophy and culture.
• Communicate effectively in English with other medical personnel and patients.
• Improve employment possibilities in own or other countries.

Global Nursing Review Program is a combination and enhancement of programs the University of California, Extension, Riverside, and the California Community College system have been doing for years. We have re-combined and updated existing programs into a 9-month certificate program for international nurses. International nurses may now have one-year Optional Practical Training (OPT) upon successful completion of the program and passing scores on the TOEFL and NCLEX exams with salaries beginning at $40,000 per year.
UCR Extension has over 32 years’ experience working with international students and professionals and many years doing courses for Registered Nurses (RNs). The California Community Colleges have not only had successful nurse training programs but have also been offering NCLEX review classes for international nurses living in California and have raised the pass rate for these nurses from 50% to well over 80%.
This 3-quarter intensive Global Nursing Review Program should ensure an even higher pass rate and, in addition, graduates of this program will be able to understand western medical practices and philosophy and be able to communicate effectively with medical personnel and patients in an American hospital.
