GENERAL INFORMATION
LOCATION
Classes are held in the UC Riverside Extension Center; some will be held off site during field trips.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
45 days before the starting date of the program or module.
VISAS
Participants accepted for study need an I-20 form (Certificate of Student Eligibility) so that they may obtain a student visa (F-1) at the nearest US Consulate.
Although the IEP office processes applications within five working days from the date received, it may take up to several weeks for participants to receive the I-20 through regular mail, depending on the destination. Please send your application well in advance to ensure proper time to process your visa.
If you send your application for an I-20 within 30 days or less from the beginning of the program, your I-20 will be sent by express mail service and you will be responsible for the fee.
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
IEP’s own housing office provides housing arrangements throughout the year with the following options:
- On-campus International Residence Center (IRC)
- On-campus International Village (IV)
- American Family Homestay

STUDENT SERVICES FEE
The Student Services Fee includes the following benefits: e-mail and high-speed internet access, computer lab access, identification card, UC Riverside library access, immigration advising, university admission counseling, social events, miscellaneous transportation, personal advising/counseling, and promotional item (one per student)
- 1- to 4 week program $100
- 5- to 10 week program $150
- 30-week program $300
MEDICAL INSURANCE (per session)
Participant MUST purchase health and accident insurance through IEP. Our insurance provides coverage of US$250,000 per accident or illness. It covers Pre-existing condition but does not cover allergies.
- 1- to 3 week program $90
- 4-week program $120
- 6-week program $180
- 10-week program $300
- 30-week program $950
Note: Coverage is not provided during the breaks and is an additional charge. Please check with Enrollment Services for fees.
PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY
All program fees must be paid on or before Registration Day. Fees can be paid with cashier’s check/money order payable to “UC Regents,” cash. traveler’s check or with VISA/MasterCard.
Full tuition can only be refunded upon receipt of the following before classes begin: a written request for withdrawal from the program and the original I-20 issued by UC Riverside Extension, if applicable. No refunds will be granted after the program begins.
